PS+ released Sandland in their catalogue a month ago. A Facebook group member said they are excited to try it, and some of them have already bought it. After further checking, I found out it was originally a comic by the famous artist Akira Toriyama (鳥山明).
Before I started the game, I searched for the Sandland comic and read it. The comic is just a single-book short story. The story is about a person named Rao who works together with a demon to find water. It is straightforward, short, but nice.
Without much expectation, I played the game. Everything followed what had been in the comic book; then it suddenly introduced a new girl character, which was not in the comic book, and then the game started to become interesting. We are now able to drive bots to fight with the enemy, and there are different types of bots we can choose from. jumping bot, motorcycle, and many more.
When the story is near the end of the Sandland story, I am shocked that the game is still not end, but the story continues to Forestland, which is totally new for me because it does not exist in the Sandland comic. As my further check, Sandland got a TV serial that includes the Forest Land story.
Overall, the game was fun; there were many vehicles we could use and customise, and the Spirol town has many good side quests that extend our game time. The difficulty is normal; luckily, I am not dying a lot. It is a game you must try, but don't read the comic or watch the anime first if you haven't watched it, if you plan to play the game.
